Scotland is an incredible land; it captivates with its stark yet tranquil beauty. It's a land of contrasts: wild nature and quiet villages, stormy coastlines and gentle pastures, rainy mornings and golden sunsets. Vast moors sway in the wind, mountain peaks emerge from the mist, and dark lakes reflect the sky like a mirror. Old castles watch over the valleys, reminding us of a history steeped in legends and battles.
The heart of the land is undoubtedly Cairngorms National Park – the largest in Great Britain, it will be our home on this trip.
This land welcomes us in no hurry. Here, the road winds slowly between the hills, and each bend reveals a new vista: jagged peaks shrouded in cloud, valleys suffused with greenery, and dark dungeons that seem to hold ancient secrets. This is a land where nature dictates its rhythm, and man is merely a guest. Mornings can be damp and quiet. Mist hangs over the moors, sheep emerge from them like shadows, and the wind carries the scent of peat and wet grass. Throughout the day, the light changes the landscape every few minutes—the sun suddenly breaks through the clouds, only to give way to rain again moments later. Castles stand here not for decoration. Stone ruins overlooking lochs and cliffs look as if they still guard ancient clans.
A journey through the Highlands is not just about viewing the landscape, but also about experiencing the space. Long walks without meeting another person, roads leading nowhere, evenings in small pubs where you can hear local stories and music by the fire. It's easy to slow down here, easy to forget about time.
This will be our visit to these lands, during which we will discover their beauty, nature, and interesting inhabitants.
