"Pre-Christmas Meeting on the Trail" – YR WYDDFA – Sunrise

In keeping with our tradition, the Christmas Eve "Pre-Christmas Gathering on the Trail" will take place at the summit of YR WYDDFA (Snowdon). As every year, weather permitting, we will try to welcome the day at the summit.

We invite all mountain and hiking enthusiasts on December 20th (Saturday). Awaiting us is a night ascent of the highest peak in England and Wales, located in the Eryri National Park (Snowdonia). This magnificent mountain, 1,085 meters above sea level, is considered part of the "Crown" of the British Isles, along with the highest peaks in England, Scotland, and Northern Ireland. It boasts a magnificent geological history spanning 450 million years.

The oldest volcanic rocks of the massif are the result of volcanic activity in this area. But not only that, as its rocks conceal much more. The mountain also holds a mystical meaning, shrouded in Welsh legends and myths dating back centuries. During our ascent, we'll learn interesting facts not only about the summit but also about the entire National Park. Depending on weather conditions, we'll choose the best approach route – the Ranger Path trail is the planned route.

At the summit, of course, there will be a symbolic wafer and a glass of champagne with New Year's wishes for each participant.

We invite you: HIKE = HELP ️ Just like we've done for the past six years, we'll also donate all proceeds to the account of the person who needs it most. This year, we'll support Justyna and her 3-year-old son, Piotruś, who lost their husband/father and 2-month-old daughter/sister in an accident. The "Pre-Christmas Meeting on the Trail" is the perfect time not only to meet up but also to help those in need.

- Length: 13 km

- Elevation gain: approx. 800 m

- Hiking time: approx. 5 hours

WHAT TO BRING:

- CRAMPONS ARE REQUIRED!!!

- HIKING SHOES + RAIN JACKET

- A FLASHLIGHT

- SANDWICHES, WATER, A THERMOS WITH A HOT DRINK

AFTER THE DESCENT, YOU WILL BE ABLE TO VISIT A CAFE OR PUB

This event is for adults only. The cost of participation is £10 per person. We will travel to the meeting point in our own cars at our own expense.
