LLYN CRAFNANT - "Family Meeting on the Trail"

Hello.

We invite you to the next "Family Meeting on the Trail", which will take place on April 23. This time we will visit Eryri National Park (Snowdonia) to admire one of its fragments. Our destination will be a mountain lake hidden in the valley of the Afon Crafnant stream.

It is a charming place where mountain forests meet the clear waters of Lake Crafnant. This forest is Welsh Gwydir proudly growing on the slopes of the Carneddau range. Guidebooks describe this place as one of those whose views are breathtaking. Looking at the surface of the lake and peaks such as Crampiau reflected in it, we have the impression of being part of the surrounding nature.

During our wandering, we will learn the history of the creation of the lake and its use as a drinking water reservoir for the surrounding villages.

The lake is home to many interesting species of fish, and the surrounding forests to numerous representatives of the world of fauna and flora.

Due to the charms, the area has become the backdrop for several films.

The starting point for that day will be the village of Trefwir, which is famous in the area not only for its old wool spinning mill, but also for the spa, which was already known in Roman times, and gained in importance in the 18th century.

During the walk we will stop for lunch and there will be a chance to buy coffee/tea/ice cream in a local shop.

- TREKKING SHOES + RAIN JACKET

- SANDWICHES, WATER, THERMOS WITH HOT DRINK

- SAUSAGES ON THE GRILL (FOR THOSE WHO ARE WILLING)

The trip is aimed at adults and children from the age of 5.

The price for participation in the event is £10 for an adult and £5 for a child.

We arrive at the meeting place by our own cars and at our own expense.

People who do not have cars can use places at other places after agreeing with the organizer and participating in the cost of fuel.
